Experience
Ryan has been working as a journalist, primarily in the pop culture space, for a decade and counting. He got his start writing for sites such as the Phoenix New Times before making the jump to writing about movies and TV full time for Movieweb. During his years obsessively covering every corner of the entertainment industry, he has interviewed many big names, including Oscar-winning director Darren Aronofksy and super star composer Michael Giacchino. He has also been on the ground to cover some of the biggest events in all of entertainment, including SXSW, San Diego Comic-Con and Star Wars Celebration. Ryan has also been a guest on popular podcasts such as The Kingcast and the Geekdom Fancast, in addition to his regular appearances on the /Film Daily podcast.
Education
Ryan has an associate's degree in applied science and New Media Studios from Mesa Community College (MCC), one of the largest and most respected community colleges in the country. He also studied audio production technologies at MCC prior to shifting his focus to journalism.
